Hawaiian Airlines announced Wednesday it will launch new service between Hawaii and the Cook Islands, beginning in May 2023 with a weekly flight between Honolulu and Rarotonga. "It is an opportunity to expand our South Pacific network and grow our brand in the region, while also providing a link for travelers originating in our 15 U.S. Mainland gateway cities to visit the Cook Islands with a connection in Honolulu," a spokesperson for the airline told PBN in an email. In response to a question about the cost of launching the new route, the spokesperson said it will "have the regular operational costs including staffing, ground handling, and so on.
